Haflinger is one brand that many customers are still not familiar with, despite the fact that we’ve carried them since 1999. Clogs and slippers from Haflinger are made from boiled wool, and as we start thinking about fall footwear, our thoughts usually turn to Haflinger slippers which are great for those cool fall mornings and evenings. However, with the popularity of Ugg footwear and the boot craze, people come into the store asking for Uggs without even thinking about Haflinger. Try a pair of the wool slippers - you may be glad you did!

Just thinking today about my big size 14 foot, and I realized that I don’t know where I would shop if I were a woman with a size 14 foot and wanted comfortable shoes such as those we offer at Shoobedoo. Dansko, NAOT, ECCO, and these euro brands don’t offer anything to women with size 12 or larger. As a guy, i can go to sites like Bigshoes.com and find a big selection. Maybe an idea for a startup? Anyway, still looking to launch the new site in early September…

We recently got a sneak peak at the latest Dansko boots for fall, and they are fabulous! At Shoobedoo, we offer Dansko clogs in all the latest colors and styles. Obviously the best seller is still the Dansko Professional, but as the years have gone by and Dansko womens shoes continued to evolve, more of our customers have requested the funkier colors that are available. Take a look at our current catalog of other comfortable shoes as well, such as NAOT sandals on sale at the lowest prices of the season. Stay tuned for fall’s newest styles of Dansko boots.

Despite some delays, we are happy to say that the new Shoobedoo site is only about a week away from introduction. We’re excited about the new catalog and the brands we’re now able to offer. We’ll still specialize in Dansko, NAOT, Josef Seibel, and the other comfort shoes we’ve sold for almost 10 years, but we’re also adding a few more such as MBT, New Balance, SAS, and more.

When we started selling Dansko clogs 8 years ago, we had to convince customers to try it on. Most people’s reaction upon entering our store was something like “that’s a clunky looking shoe!”. Oh, how times have changed. The Dansko Professional clog is now so mainstream that it could be considered a classic. And those customers that initially bought a pair of Danskos from us in 1999 can now be seen wearing the latest Dansko styles, as well as their classic old Dansko Professionals…

Well, we’ve talked with Dansko a couple of times over the past week regarding spring inventory, and - as usual - they will have trouble keeping new styles in stock over the next month or so. Actually, even the Dansko Professional clog is currently backordered in any color other than Black and Antique Brown oiled.

To be honest, we gave up trying to stock every style and color long ago. It’s just too much risk for a small retailer to take on. Yes, Zappos and Shoes.com and those types of mega-sites can pull it off, but they likely have made special arrangements with the manufacturer in terms of pricing and liability for large inventories of obscure styles and colors.
