Well, we’ve talked with Dansko a couple of times over the past week regarding spring inventory, and - as usual - they will have trouble keeping new styles in stock over the next month or so. Actually, even the Dansko Professional clog is currently backordered in any color other than Black and Antique Brown oiled.

To be honest, we gave up trying to stock every style and color long ago. It’s just too much risk for a small retailer to take on. Yes, Zappos and Shoes.com and those types of mega-sites can pull it off, but they likely have made special arrangements with the manufacturer in terms of pricing and liability for large inventories of obscure styles and colors.

Our site redesign is progressing well and is set to launch on September 1st, but there are some fabulous new Dansko clogs and sandals in the spring line. Availability is still sparse, but we hope to have stock in most styles and colors by the time the new site launches. It’s amazing how Dansko has changed over the 10 years that we’ve been offering their footwear. Originally, it was just the classic clogs. Then they added a few new styles and colors. Now they have so many styles that it’s tough to keep track of everything. But the comfort remains, and if you are a Dansko fan, you will likely always be one - we have literally seen these clogs make a complete difference in people’s health and quality of life.

Well, it’s been quite a ride for our comfort shoe business. Shoobedoo is under new management and we’re currently working on re-inventing the website. We plan to not only update all of our European brands to include new spring styles, but also add the option for our customers to order items from other brand names. In addition, we are planning a partnership with our neighbor and friends from Jules Boutique, retailer of designer denim brands such as True Religion, Seven for all Mankind, and others as well as other fashionable apparel.
